Get Yer Oil On.

So 2 years ago I absolutely battered my hair with bleach, I'd gone from black to blonde but it wasnt long before I returned to the dark side.
To get my hair back into condition, I tried every treatment you can think of but for me, Moroccan Oil worked best. I'm almost at the end of my 100ml bottle now, theres probably enough left to see me through christmas but as you know, the price is ridiculous, over £30!
It does last for what seems like forever so I suppose the price isnt that bad. Anyway, instead of buying another bottle, I wanted to try something diiferent, something I wasnt lucky enough to receive in my September Glossybox

L'Oreal Mythic Oil

Most of the reviews seem to be good and its miles cheaper than Moroccan Oil. Has anyone tried both, how do they compare?

If there's any other oils you've tried and liked, let me know.

  1. How come you never received any in your Glossybox? Did you get something else instead? So depressing. Been there, done that with the bleach scenario. I had to chop miles of length off my hair in May and am still struggling to get my hair back to it's former glory.

I can seriously recommend the Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator as a conditioner and the Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum in place of Moroccan Oil (I like the alternate the two, as I want my Moroccan Oil to last and the Paul Mitchell is slightly cheaper but does a very similar thing).

  2. Ive tried both and the Morrocan oil is far far better. The mythic oil is ok but it didnt seem to make much difference to my hair and the smallest amount can make it feel pretty greasy!

  3. I got the shine spray instead, havent used it yet, I needed another shine spray like I need a hole in the head. Same here, I got about 6inches cut off at 1st and always make sure I get loads cut off whenever I'm having my hair done but it doesnt seem to matter what I do, my hair is still a nightmare. Joico K-Pak has just been ordered :] hope I love it as much as everyone else does.

I'm glad I done this post and didnt just go ahead and order it then, cant stand overly greasy oils. I'll stick with Morrocan Oil for now, Try the K-Pak and keep searching for a good oil.

    thanks girlies.

  4. I popped in to Boots the other day and saw that Lee Stafford has their own range of Moroccan Oil, I want to give it a try as it is cheaper than actual Moroccan Oil!

  6. I've heard wonders of this and keep meaning to buy it from my hairdressers, I was once bleached and I've written a review of a cheaper alternative to morrocan oil if you want to see it's here; http://emilyhasdimples.blogspot.com/2011/10/vo5-hot-oil-review-1.html Hope it helps xx

  7. Thanks for the comment xx Personally, I think companies like that just use the name ARGAN OIL/ Moroccan oil because it's really hyped right now. Read the ingredient list and you'll see that there is Not much Argan Oil in those bottles.. I'd say it's better to just buy a bottle of pure argan oil :)

  9. Yolandaas: You're right, Moroccan/Argon oil are buzz words at the min and when you look at the ingredients, the oil is quite far down the list. Demithicone, which is a silicone is at the top of the list. I have a huuuge jar of pure coconut oil that I've been using for weekly treatments but after I've used up my moroccon oil I might start using the coconut oil instead. I dont want my hair weighed down with silicone.

Lila: I tried Lee Stafford years ago but didnt get on with any of his products, I'll check it out next time I'm in boots tho.

  10. I've not tried either but really need to do something with my hair, it's in a horrible state. I've read so much about the Moroccan oil I think I might treat myself x

  11. I really love Kerastase Elixir Oil - it is literally one of the best hair oils I have ever used and smells gorgeous! It works great at keeping my hair soft and manageable, as well as adding shine without making it look greasy like some hair oils can do. Would definitely recommend, but get it off 'look fantastic' than instore as get a bit of a discount of the less becoming price tag... :)
