Product Rave: New CID I-Blush Blusher & Highlighter Compact.

New CID is quickly becoming one of my favourite make up brands. I've only tried two products so far but its like a drug, I NEED more! Every morning I'm excited to use this compact, just looking at it gets me excited. Heres why..

New CID I-Blush Blusher & Highlighter Compact £24* has a split pan, one side is a gorgeous deep  pink blush with a golden sheen, the other half is a golden highlighter. Both the highlighter and blush are seriously pigmented, so so smooth to the touch and dont look powdery at all.

At first I thought the highlighter might be a bit too golden for my skin tone but its perfect. I'm a huge fan of golden highlighters, I find they warm my base up ever so slightly and I'm able to get away without blush/bronzer. On darker skin tones this highlighter is going to look incredible. I think it was maybe made with darker skin tones in mind but even on my fair skin it still looks great. I just have to be careful I dont go overboard. I roll my Real Techniques Contour brush over the highlighter really lightly and that gives me the perfect amount of product but you can build it up really easily, I've even used it as eyeshadow! It can be as subtle or in your face as you like. Theres no chunks of glitter either so you're never going to end up with glitter fallout down your face.

The blush is a stunning colour but unfortunately I find it slightly too red for my already red cheeks so I only use it when I'm wearing a foundation like Estee Lauder Double Wear but I've tried it on a few different people and just like the highlighter, it suits so many different skin tones. Because of the golden sheen it acts as a highlighter too, I've worn it really sheer and it gives such a pretty glowy look.

The compact has now replaced the mirror compact I usually carry around in my bag so for me its like having three products in one. The mirror is huge and it even lights up. Not that I do my make up in the dark but I've been using it as a torch to guide me to the loo at night lol The only bad thing I can say is the packaging feels a bit 'clunky', I'm not sure if thats a word but thats what springs to mind when I try to describe it.

I get a full days wear out of both the blush & highlighter so its definitely not high maintenance, I doubt you'll have to top up throughout the day/night. Dont want to sound too dramatic but I doubt I could live without this highlighter now!

    1. I hadnt tried anything from New CID untill last month. I wish there was a compact with just the highlighter but I doubt I'll work my way through this one any time soon. The bronzer looks great too.

  2. This really reminds me of the Bobbi Brown Bronzer and Blush Duo :) I'm planning to get that because it does look really amazing and the colours are really nice to work with. This product looks very promising too, but i am quite unimpressed by the packaging and i prefer the bobbi browns sleeker alternative really. The pricing is also very similar but the bobbi brown one is slightly more expensive by a few pounds. Thanks for the review xoxo
