If You Could Only Use One Item Of Makeup For The Rest Of Your Life...

What would it be? Ok so the title of this post is a bit of a lie as I'm talking about more than one item of makeup but I didnt know whatelse to call it.

During the week when I dont have much to do and dont really have much need for applying a full face of slap (or I just cant be bothered) I still like to use mascara. I know for many people foundation gives them the most confidence but for me its mascara. I dont have perfect skin, at the minute its far from perfect but I have really big eyes and if I dont use mascara I just look half asleep/stoned. Attractive. So thats why mascara gives me more confidence than foundation. Ok, I've kinda gone off on one but I promise I'm getting to the point. Because my eyes are so big they create shadows under my eyes. I'm a rubbish sleeper, I'm often up untill all hours and its finally taken its toll. So not only do I have dark circles and bags from lack of sleep but I've got added dark shadows because of my eye shape aswell.

Mascara on its own just doesnt cut it anymore, I cant get away with not concealing my under eye area and usually if I'm not wearing foundation I hate using concealer as it just doesnt look right and to me its noticeable but last week I came across my Garnier Tinted Eye Roll On (which I need to get a new one of, I'm sure its out of date) when I first got this it didnt impress me so I chucked it to one side but last week it came out of hiding and I've been using it ever since.

A few weeks back I got some samples of Origins Ginzing Eye Cream, squeezed them into a travel sized pot and started using it. Now, I've wanted to try this for so long but it just hasnt lived up to all the rave reviews I've read BUT paired  with the Garnier Tinted Eye Roll On - match made in heaven. I start by applying a generous amount of Ginzing under my eyes, it does have a brightening effect, nothing major but after leaving it to sink in then adding a swipe of the Garnier Eye Roll On before mascara my eye area looks so much better. I look more awake and less zombie like but best of all, its so natural and doesnt crease at all through out the day. It doesnt give full coverage but for day to day it does a good job and stops me feeling the urge to do a full face of make up.

I should point out Rimmel Lash Accelerator isnt my mascara of choice but I had my stupidly straight lashes permed last week so now I'm able to work my way through the half used mascaras I dont really rate.

Whats the main thing that drives you crazy. Skin, dark circles, spots?

  1. I'd probably pick a good mascara and a concealer too! I always feel more confident when I have those two with me x

  3. This is a great idea for a post! I have awful dark circles as well because I am really bad at gettting to sleep. If I had to pick only two products it would probably be my BB cream and mascara :)

  4. How amazing - I've been using the exact same combo lately (not the mascara but Origins GinZng & the Garnier Eye Roll on). They work amazingly well together and really help to brighten my under-eye area without feeling cakey and over-done like ordinary concealers do. So pleased someone's been loving the two together as much as I do xx

    1. I'm tempted to buy the Origins GinZing. More eye cream is the last thing I need but they work so well together. Yeah they dont look/feel cakey at all. Usually I'm looking in the mirror twenty times a day to pat out where my concealer has creased.

  5. I could not live without concealer, I have to cover up my blemishes. It gives me a boost of confidence once they are hidden. xx

  7. I look dead without eye makeup- darn fair features! But I'm most paranoid about my skin, it needs to be covered, and I wish I didn't feel like that! x

  8. Definitely blusher! You can use it as an eye shadow and mix it with balm to make a lovely lip colour! 3-in-1!

  11. Hmmm I think mine would have to be liquid eyeliner (as I don't look 'me' without it!), blusher (as I look tired without it) and Bare Minerals foundation (as it evens out all imperfections). I am hoping I will never be reduced to this though! hehe x
