NOTD: O.P.I 'Lights Of Emerald City'

WARNING: Pic Heavy!

I have to say the collections from O.P.I barely interest me these days. I used to be obsessed with the nail lacquer giant but now I don't find any of the shades jump out at me. Every now and then though there's one beauty that catches my eye, this time it's Lights Of Emerald City which is part of the new Oz The Great And Powerful collection.

This polish looks beautiful in the bottle, it kinda reminds me of a snow globe. I really like how it looks on the nails too - it's a clear base packed full of large white, matte, square glitter along with smaller squares of glitter which change colour depending on what shade of polish you layer it over. I love the polish but have had some issues with it.

In the photo's I've layered one coat of Lights Of Emerald City over Filthy Gorgeous 'Tea Bird'* I loved how it looked but on closer inspection I noticed lots of holes right through the polish. I thought maybe I hadn't let 'Tea Bird' dry properly before applying Lights Of Emerald City so a few days later I started from scratch, even using a different base/top coat and let it all dry for an hour before slicking LOEC on top. Within an hour I noticed the holes appearing again! I'm not too bothered as it isn't noticeable unless I have my hand right up to my face or use macro on my camera but it's still a bit annoying. I'm also a bit annoyed by how roughly the larger white squares have been cut.

Despite all that I do still love LOEC but in my opinion the quality of O.P.I polishes is slipping.

Do you own this?
Have you had the same problems?
