Perricone No Concealer Concealer.

Perricone No Concealer Concealer

When it comes to make up, concealer is the one product I'm always left feeling more than a bit disappointed with. I honestly have no idea how many I've tried over the years but I've never fully loved any of them. They're either too sheer, too drying, too orange, too cakey, don't last well on the skin or crease within a matter of minutes. For the last lot of weeks I've been trying out Perricone No Concealer Concealer. I'd been tempted by it many times before I eventually took the plunge but I finally did when I received a 20% discount code. It's been raved about like crazy and even the live demos on QVC looked really good so I was certain it would be the one.

But is it?

I need to get something out of the way first, the one shade suits all spiel isn't true. If your skin is very light or very dark then this is a no no. I'm not the fairest person in the world but even on me it come's up quite orange and I can only wear it when I'm wearing foundation. If I fancy a concealer and mascara day I need to use a diferent concealer. That aside it does do a decent job of correcting any blue tones and features broad spectrum UVA and UVB, non-chemical, mineral-based SPF 35 protection. The formula is loaded with anti-ageing ingredients and can even be used as primer. Because it contains all these ingredients I wasn't sure if I should use it on it's own or over eye cream so I tried it both ways but sadly it creased both ways, badly. The main selling point for me was the claim of being crease-proof but that it is not, atleast not for me.

I have a feeling this review is going to come across negative but I really don't mean it to, I actually like No Concealer Concealer a lot but for every pro there seems to be a con. Yes it covers dark circles extremely well but the 'one size fits all' shade means my eye area never looks bright. It stays in place all day and doesn't fade but it creases and can make the under eye area look slightly dry. See what I mean? Maybe it's only me who has these problems with it.

The key to getting great coverage with this heavy duty concealer is to dab it on. Never try to blend it with a brush or rub it in with your finger, you won't be impressed with the coverage that way.

I think it's safe to say it's the best concealer I've tried so far but my HG concealer mission continues.

Have you tried Perricone No Concealer Concealer?

  1. I'd have orange splodges if I used this, given the shade! Very expensive for what it is, don't you think? x

    1. Orange splodges is exactly how it looks on me if I try wearing it without a base. It is indeed, if I hadn't had a discount code I wouldn't pay full price.

  2. oh interesting, i have been thinking about trying this but im not sure if i will if it creases badly. The new concealer from Benefit fakeup is fab for not creasing, i recently reviewed it :)

    1. If most concealers crease on you I would say this will too. Maybe try getting your hands on a sample first?

    1. The coverage is fantastic! If it was available in a lighter shade and didn't crease I would love it even more.

  4. I generally use my collection 2000 for my heavy duty concealer and I am in need for a light concealer for under my eyes :D <3

  5. I agree with your previous reply (above), the Collection concealer is thick and gloopy. I wouldn't say I hate it, but I don't think its worth the hype at all.

Btw, I've tagged you in a post, I'd love it if you checked it out :)

  7. I heard really good things about this but the shade it's definitely too dark for me. I like to go a couple of shades lighter for under eye concealer, so I don't think this could work for me. Try Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer, it's very cheap, comes in a nice range of shades, it's very hydrating and it doesn't crease at all on me.

    1. I always like to go lighter too, I have to or I don't look awake. Thanks, I'll give that a try. :)

  8. That's so disappointing it didn't work out too well for you. I've been loving this as a corrector but agree that the one shade fits all claim isn't true, it definitely wouldn't all skintones xx

  9. It's great as a corrector isn't it but the lack of shade range really lets it down.

  10. Shame it's one shade fits all. Have you tried setting it with powder to help creasing :) xx

  11. So far, my favorite of all the concealers I've tried is the Samshbox photo ready concealer in the little tube. They have a ton of shades to match everyone. You just dab it on with your finger and tap, tap, tap it in. It completely melts into the skin to cover under the eye without creasing. It also does an amazing job of covering blemishes and such. It's creamy, not real stiff and dry like some concealers are. I hate the stiff, dry ones. I find them very hard to work with. As you get older, concealer becomes more and more of a necessity because your skin shows more and more wear, spots, scars, and discolorations. I never needed it, never used it until after I turned 40. Try the smashbox photo ready in the little tube if you haven't already done so. They also have a really great eyelid primer that I love. I've tried a ton of those as well. Theirs is my favorite, by far.

    1. Thanks for your comment, I'll definitely give it a try! :) I never really bother using concealer for areas other than under my eye's. I'm in my 20's but have always had quite bad dark circles! It's so hard trying to find the perfect concealer.
