If you've been a reader of my blog for a while now you'll know Real Techniques are my go-to brushes. I adore the Delux Crease Brush and Buffing Brush but I have a confession to make - I've been cheating. Yes that's right the unthinkable has happend, since owning Sephoras offering I've barely reached for the RT Buffing Brush. I still love it, it's fantastic quality and the price is great but our relationship has gone from being lovers to just great friends. As you probably guessed from the name, this brush is designed to be used with mineral foundation but let me tell you something - this beauty of a brush works amazingly well with liquid foundation, so well infact that I haven't even bothered to try it with minerals/powders. I'm seriously in love with the finish I'm left with when using this to apply YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat or any liquid foundation for that matter.
In terms of size it's more or less the same length as the RT Buffing Brush and easy to hold. I can't stand brushes with really long handles so this size is great for me and they're easier to pack away when going on holiday. The bristles are synthetic, very soft and easy to clean (I use Dr Bronner's Liquid Soap) even though the bristles are soft they don't bend like crazy as they're so densely packed but there's still a bit of movement and because the top is domed, it's easy to get into places like the corners of the nose. I haven't had any problems with shedding and the brush retains it's shape well after washing.
If you're like me and don't live anywhere near the magical land of Sephora, i feel your pain. If you know anyone who will be going on holiday to America, France or any other Sephpora-fied countries I really recommend getting them to pick one up for you. As you've probably already guessed, Lina got it for me.
Do you own this brush?
What foundation brush do you always reach for?
This is one of my favourite brushes, I used everyday for my powder. x
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it with powder yet but I'm sure I'll love it for that too.

This is so going on my wishlist right now! The shape of it looks absolutely perfect for buffing in foundation, good to hear it works well with liquid too x

You use bareMinerals foundation don't you? I'll be trying it with mine later for the first time.

This is such a nice brush! I don't think I've seen it before but I'm definitely going to check it out at sephora! xx
ReplyDeleteDefinitely get it, it's a gorgeous brush. I'll pick up another one if I'm ever near a Sephora.

That's a pretty brush. I agree with you about long handles too.
ReplyDeleteAli
Long handles are so awkward and get in the way if you like to get up close to a mirror to do you makeup.

This brush sounds lovely. I really wish Sephora would open over here, they would get tones of business :(

I know, I would never be away from the place. Imagine working there, my wages would be long gone! lol

Looks like a lovely brush! I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I agree with you on the handle situation!
ReplyDeleteJust followed your lovely blog via GFC :)

The Expert Face Brush is the next one I want to try. Do you prefer it to the Buffing brush?

I love this brush as well, but currently Sigma F84 rules my world and my face :)
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tried any Sigma but the F80 has been on my list for ages! Need to google the F84.

Oh I love the look of this - looks like the perfect combo of firm and soft. And I used the same YSL foundation so now you're tempting me to drift from my RT brush too! ;)

You would love it with YSL! :) Let me know if you try it.

love the look of this brush, looks right up my street... reminds me of the urban decay' good karma brush. x
ReplyDeleteI Am A Weapon Of Massive Consumption
That's what it reminds me off too but I haven't tried the Good Karma brush so not sure how it compares.
