Orly Gel FX

I've had a huge fall out with my thumb nails, we're constantly at war, they just wont behave!

I'm fed up of them splitting and leaving me with thumbs that wouldnt look out of place on a boy so lastnight I went up to my friends house where she performed an operation to hopefully, HOPEFULLY keep my thumb nails strong enough so that they can get past a certain length before splitting.

I'm not a lover of gel/acrylic nails, I like them on other people but they end up making me feel like Edward Scissor hands. However, I love gel overlays (gel painted onto your natural nails), so thats what I went for.

After having a look at all the bottles of gel and not being able to make my mind up I went for what
she was wearing - Orly Gel FX in Rage. I've seen people rave about this colour from the normal Orly polish line but when I've had a look at swatches online it really didnt float my boat so either the true beauty doesnt come across fully in photos or I prefer the gel version. Has anyone tried both? I plan on ordering a bottle but I'd love to see some comparison pics.

Orly Gel FX is packed with antioxidant vitamins A and E to help promote healthy nails while pro-vitamin B5 protects the structure of the natural nail. I'm hoping, praying, crossing everything that this will work but atleast I wont be changing my nail polish everyday now, and smothering my poor nails in nail polish remover.

    1. I'm quite pale but it looks even nicer on tanned skin. I love how natural it looks but still a bit twinkly. :]

    1. Yes it needs a UV light but it was really quick and looked easy. You need a 'bonder' (I think) or maybe it was called primer. I'll check with her. She painted it on first then done a few coats of Rage and cured the nails after every coat then used clear gel at the end.

I love rage but think it might be slightly different to the normal polish. To me the polish looks more metalic but the gel seems to be more shimmery, which I prefer.

  5. I adore this colour! I prefer gel overlays like this to longer acrylics too - I just get annoyed when they are long!
