NOTD: Nails Inc Elizabeth Street

Nails Inc Elizabeth Street

With this months Glamour mag there was another fab freebie: A full size Nails Inc polish. With 4 shades to choose from I decided to go for Elizabeth Street. I love milky pinks so Elizabeth Street was the obvious choice for me.

Products Used:O.P.I Ridge Filler
Nails Inc Elizabeth Street (3 coats)
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

Elizabeth Street is described as a 'delicate nude cream polish' it does contain some shimmer but you really have to look for it in the bottle as it is so subtle and once on the nails it's barely noticeable. The finish is very, very sheer. For a fully opaque look it would take 4+ coats. Milky pinks are my weakness but Elizabeth Street just doesn't do it for me. I don't like the formula, it's very wishy washy and streaky. The finished look is just a bit bleh. I've found it looks best with a milky white base coat.

What Nails Inc colour did you go for?

  1. The finished effect is so glossy and shiny~ Is that down to the nail polish itself or is it the topcoat? The colour is really pretty and sweet though, shame the formulation isn't that great and is very sheer :( Nails inc nail polishes is always in my bad books although their colour ranges are extremely nice :) xxx

    1. It's down to the top-coat. The polish itself doesn't have the glossiest finish. I agree, I love the shade range but the finishes aren't the best.

    1. Thank you! :) There's still loads left in my local shops but I think it's mostly the gold glitter polish left. You might get lucky and find Elizabeth Street though.

  3. I love the shade of Elizabeth Street but agree that the formula is really annoying and disappointing for Nails Inc :( x

    1. I've started to really like wearing sheer pinks with only one coat but I'm not sure how good it would look with this shade. It might look too streaky. Have you tried it?

  5. I kept thinking about getting this but decided against it. Glad I did if you need lots of coats, there are better pinks out there. xx

    1. You need a good few coats with Opera Ballerina too but I prefer that shade so much more so I'm willing to put up with it. Did you go for any of the other colours?

  6. This is totally random but I really like your nail shape :) that polish looks a lot like Essie's a crewed interest. Maybe you should try that one if you're looking for a more opaque version :) xx

    1. Thanks :) My nails were peeling so I filed them down quite short. I might keep them at this length though, polish seems to stay on longer before chipping. Ohh I'll have to have a look at A Crewed Interest next time I'm in Boots (if it's in the diffusion line)

  10. I went for the same colour, hoping it would be an opaque baby pink... but 4+ coats to achieve a decent result is much more effort than I am willing to put on my nails.

    1. I agree. It chipped on me within a day so it's really not worth the effort.

  11. I got the dark blue one, not sure of the name off the top of my head. Its a nice colour but again the consistancy isn't great i find the quality of these nails inc freebies always seems substandard, im not sure if they use a different formulation but if they do its not a great idea really because it might put people off dishing out over £10 for a bottle! Love that colour on you x

    1. The formulation is the same. Some are just really baaaaad! The best I've found from Nails Inc is Picadilly Circus. It's a one coater with a brilliant finish but unfortunately most of the other shades don't have the best formula.

    2. I also got the dark blue one (Motcomb Street) and it's my first Nails Inc polish. I love it! I haven't had any formula problems at all, it dries so shiny, and it wasn't too thick or too thin. Maybe I juts put on a bit of a thicker coat - since with a careful thicker coats, you could definitely make Motcomb Street a one coater - and you can see more of the blue that way too!
