Shopping My Stash #1

After reading The Sunday Girl's weekly 'shopping my stash' posts I thought it was about time I done the same. It'll enable me to get use out of all my make up and hopefully stop certain products getting neglected. I'm not going to give myself a mountain of products each week and I was thinking of making it a fortnightly post as I dont wear make up everyday so two weeks will give me a good amount of time to use each product.

For my first post I've picked:

Bellapierre Eyeshadow in Gold&Brown: I really do love this shade but because its loose pigment I just see it as too much fuss and opt for pressed shadows instead.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Prelude In The Clouds Primer (Zuneta Sample): This sample has been knocking around for a few months now. Its about time I used it and had a break from Benefit ThePOREfessional.

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara: An old favourite. I havent used this in quite a while, I think it started clumping on my lashes so I had a break from it. This tube is almost finished and I'm on a mission to work my way through my mountain of mascara so hopefully I'll get this out of the way soon.

Shavata Brow Tamer*: I absolutely love this. Its a clear gel but unlike other brow gels it doesnt end up all manky from foundation etc as theres no wand to dip in and out.

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse in shade 01 Fashionista Pink: I think I purchased two different shades around March time and really like them but I havent really reached for them since. 01 is a really pale milky pink, it just mutes out some of the redness in my lips but you do have to reapply often.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in shade Stash: Back in the day I was all about the eyeliner, mainly black but general laziness has stopped me doing this. I usually just define my eyes with a darker shadow along the lash line but sometimes I end up with fallout so I'm hoping to rekindle my liner love.

Do you make an effort to rotate your make up?

Few Days Away | Make Up.

On Sunday I'm going away for a few days so while sorting out what I'm bringing away with me I thought I would make a few posts - Make up | Skin Care | Shampoo etc etc. I'll only be away for 4 nights and I'm not planning on going clubbing or anything like that, its just going to be a nice relaxing spa break so maybe I wont even bother with makeup but I thought it'd be best to bring some with me so as not to scare the other guests over breakfast. I'm very thoughful like that :]

Viva Glam Nicki | Creme Cup | Speak Louder

The sun is shinin' and my lips are getting brighter. I did plan on only taking one lippy but am I the only one who feels a bit braver around people you dont know? This will be my chance to wear VGN all her glory. Creme Cup is my safe everyday option and Speak Louder is just gorgeous. I never see much on the blogosphere about Speak Louder and I really dont know why, I think its perfect.

MAC MSF Soft & Gentle | Estee Lauder DayWear B.B Creme | Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint | MAC 187 | bareMinerals Blush

I never go anywhere without Soft & Gentle now, its like my life support machine. Dramatic? Yes, but true. EL B.B Creme - just a tiny sample size but enough for a few days. I might even buy the full size tube while I'm away, its brilliant! Decanted some Sheer Skin Tint to a wee pot to save some room. Brush - to apply my war paint and bareMinerals blush in tickled for a teeny bit of colour.

Benefit Browzings | bareMinerals Curl & Definition Mascara | YSL Touche Eclat | Shavata Brow Tamer* | Urban Decay Primer Potion | Naked Palette | Lash Curlers

Even if you're only wearing tinted moisturiser and mascara, Browzings makes a huge difference and just finishes off the look. I tend to back away from the powder in fear of ending up looking like the sister of Ernie and Bert but the wax does a great job on its own. I havent really had much of a chance to try the bareMinerals mascara out yet but it'll be put to the test this week. Touche Eclat - my best friend first thing in the morning. Shavata Brow Tamer* to hold my brows in place all day. UD Primer Potion, because I cant remember the last time I wore eyeshadow without it. Dont think I even need to say which shade from the Naked Palette will be over used ;] and just a cheapy pair of curlers untill I pluck up the courage to spend over a tenner on essentially a piece of metal.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. Dont know where it disappeared to in the pics. So thats everything on the makeup front. Not sure if I'll have time to do my other posts before I go but if not I'll just do them when I get home but I'll leave you with this scary thought.. If you were going away for a week and could only take one lippy, what would it be?

Shavata Brow Tamer

Eyebrow guru Shavata was the first to come up with this twist/click clear gel mascara pen. Unlike usual brow mascaras, theres no wand. Its in the shape of a pen and at the tip theres tiny teeth which allow you to get right to the brow and not on the surrounding skin.

After twisting the end of the pen untill it clicks, the clear gel is released into the comb section. I found it a bit strange at first but the small teeth make it easier to manipulate the hair, you have more control.

When doing the inner part of my brow I hold the pen so that the teeth are straight on, for the tail of my brow where the hair isnt as dense I hold the pen at a slant, this ensures every hair is coated. The gel is clear but because it helps hold the shape so well, and makes your natural brow colour more intense, you're left with brows that look groomed but without being over done.

As everyone who uses clear mascara will know, inside the tube ends up looking really dirty from the wand picking up makeup then being placed back inside the tube. It looks disgusting but cant be helped. You dont get any of that with this pen, its a lot more hygenic.

Have any of you tried this?

Shavata Brow Tamer* is £14.50 and can be found here
