My Nail Polish Collection Part 5 - Orly, Mavala, Milani.

L-R: Black Out | Lola | Violet Diamond | Pink Diamond | Black Diamond | Jewel FX Gold (link) | Jewel FX Gems (link) | Jewel FX Silver (link)| 3D Holographic Digital (link) | 3D Holographic HD (link) | 3D Holographic Hi-Res (link).

I loooove Milani polishes. I'd never heard of the brand untill I started blogging but they're really lovely, wear well and are easy to apply. Think I need to place another Cherry Culture order, are there any colours I should go for?

You can see part 1, 2, 3 and 4 here, here, here & here.

Current Obsession - White Nails.

I dont know why but lately I've been in love with white nails. Not just slightly white pinks like L'Oreal Opera Ballerina but stark, in your face white! Over the last few weeks it has been one of the only colours I've worn, sometimes on its own, sometimes with glitter layered over the top. You'll either love or hate it and a few years back I absolutely hated it, most whites just looked chalky and I suppose they still do but if applied carefully you dont end up with chalky streaks.

Last week I wanted me some Jubilee nails but without going for the obvious Union Jack design. I blobbed on some polish with an earbud, done a few outlines with a black nail art pen then fished out some glitter from a glitter polish. These pics are after a few days wear so they look a bit battered but no chips.

Products used: Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Base Coat | O.P.I Alpine Snow (2 coats) | Filthy Gorgeous Minx* | Random Red Polish | Milani Gems | Sally Hansen Insta-Dri (which is now on its last legs and full of bubbles) | Models Own Black Nail Art Pen

The bubbles from the top coat are more obvious in these pics but IRL the glitter disguises it.

What colour(s) have you been favouring lately?

Swatches: Milani Jewel FX.

I've had the chance to try out all the polishes I got from Milani so here's some swatches of the final three.

Silver

Gems

Gold
(my baby nail broke so tried to keep it out of the photo but instead ended up with a creepy looking hand)

For all 3 I used base coat, 2 thick layers of polish and top coat. The polish is easy enough to apply, you just have to make sure you spread it evenly and try not to leave any chunks of glitter upright or they will catch on everything. Silver and Gold are in clear bases with the same sized 'jewels' throughout. Gems is also in a clear base but with smaller flecks of glitter among the multi-coloured larger chunks.

Out of the 6 Milani polishes I've tried, I didnt experience any chipping at all. I wish they were easier to get hold of here in the UK, the prices are brilliant and the formulations are far better than I ever expected.
