Excuse Me While I Go Powder My Nose With New CID I-Finish

New CID is a brand I've always wanted to try something from but for some reason I never have. I love the look of the products, the white and silver packaging appeals to me and even the gimmicky lights some of the products have are a nice added extra. I'm not sure how practical the lights really are but they're still a nice touch.

I've been trying out New CID I-Finish in 01 Light* and was really curious to see how I would get on with it. I havent used powder in ages because lets be honest, most are so obvious and leave a white cast on the skin. I've been embracing the dewy look that I fought to get rid off for so many years but halfway through the day I could use some help, especially when I'm wearing YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat.

I-Finish is a high quality finely milled powder. It reduces shine and helps your foundation last a lot longer. Instead of just lightly dusting it over my skin with a brush I've been pressing it into the areas I need the most help (forehead and nose) with a cotton pad. I find doing it this way is a lot more effective and it means I can get away with not having to touch up again later on in the day. After pressing the powder into my skin with the cotton pad I use a fluffy brush to dust off the excess. My skin never looks flat or matt as after a few minutes your natural oils start to come through again and you're left with natural looking, non oily skin.

I-Finish doesnt have any fancy lights in the packaging but what I love is how the lid doubles as a mirror and the pot is small enough to carry around in your bag.

Have you tried this? Whats your thoughts on setting powders?

New CID I-Finish can be found on www.hairtrade.com and is priced at £20.50

  1. This sounds lovely. I always use loose powder to set my foundation, I am using a Laura Mercier one at the moment which I like. x

    1. I wanted the Chanel powder but the size kept putting me off. I dont have much experience with setting powders because the few I have tried almost put me off for life and I dont know how I-Finish compares to the Chanel powder but I really like it. If I just use it where I need it then it doesnt look like I'm wearing powder.
