April 2014: Love Me Beauty Box

Love Me Beauty, I love you. Once again you've came through with a box I'm more than happy with. This month I went for Menu 1* as I'm having a bit of a love affair with hair serums/balms and the Neal & Wolf Smoothing Blow Dry Balm sealed the deal for me.

Neal & Wolf Smoothing Blow-Dry Balm, RRP: 12.50 (full size): This month there was a choice of 3 different hair products from Neal & Wolf but as I said, balms and serums are really doing it for me at the mo. This blow-dry balm claims to put an end to tangles and frizz and contains a hydrating wheat protein complex to provide moisture, balance and manageability. Sounds good to me.

Betty Hula 10ml Secret Wonder Oil Roller Ball, RRP: 6.25 (full size): The body products from Betty Hula are gorgeous. They moisturise really well and the yummy scents linger on the skin all day. Haven't tried the Secret Wonder Oil yet but I love oils and this one can be used on dry skin or to soothe sunburn, relieve stretch marks and scars.

Models Own Nail Polish in 'Coral Reef', RRP: 5 (full size): I love nail polish and I love coral, winner.

Redken Colour Extend Conditioner, 25ml sample, RRP: 9.99 for 250ml: I haven't dabbled too much with Redken products, not really sure why but it's a brand I've wanted to try more from for a while now. I have long, thick hair so I'm sure I'll only get 2 uses max from this 25ml sample but I'll report back in my next empties post.

In the 3 menu's this month there was only 4 products listed in each box. I had no problem with that as 3 out of the 4 products are full size and are all products I'll use but also included was a 25 quid Hello Fresh gift card and 2 Weleda Stretch Mark Massage Oil samples.

Love Me Beauty is the beauty box boss as far as I'm concerned, the boxes are consistent each month and I'm yet to be disappointed.

Weleda Mini's

I read rave reviews on Weleda products almost daily. It's a brand that really appeals to me but up untill now I'd never tried anything. Each of the mini's I'll be talking about can be purchased separately making them great for anyone going on holiday or trying out the brand for the first time.

Citrus Deodorant 30ml, £5.95*: For a while now I've been trying to switch over to more natural deodorants but haven't had much luck. I hate the idea of sweating, that's the main thing I've struggled with during the switch. In my mind sweat = B.O Betty. We're supposed to sweat though so I'm sticking with it. The deodorant looks and feels like water which I think is so important when it comes to natural deodorants. In the past I've used some that had an almost watery, lotion texture and just would not dry! I felt sticky and wanted to jump straight into the shower. Not only does this look and feel like water but it sprays out in a fine mist and dries completely in less than a minute. The deodorant can be reapplied up to 3 times a day but so far once in the morning is enough for me. I'm sure if I was abroad in sweltering heat I would need to use it more often but untill someone offers to take me on holiday, once a day it is. The only negative is that the citrus scent doesn't last long but I'm not too bothered about that.

Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash 20ml, £1.95*: This is the only creamy body wash I own and it makes such a difference to the rough patches at the tops of my arms. It doesn't leave the skin feeling coated but at the same time it adds a lot of moisture. It smells nice and rosey too :)

Skin Food 10ml, £2.25*: Skin Food is quite an oily cream. It can be used on the whole body, even the face and has been around since 1926! Nowhere on my body or face is dry enough to need a cream this hardcore so I've been testing it out on my feet. I hate talking about feet so all I'm going to say is a little goes a long way and it makes a great overnight treatment.

Lavender Body Oil 10ml, £2.95*: I've been using this on my arms after showering to help with the dry patches I already mentioned. It softens and soothes the skin with extracts of organic lavender, sesame oil and sweet almond oil. For a lavender product the scent is quite subtle which is great for anyone like me who isn't the biggest lavender fan. It leaves a healthy sheen on the skin and doesn't feel too oily.

Calendula Face Cream 10ml, £2.45*: I. Love. This! It was the 2012 Mother & Baby award winner and I can definitely see why. It has a seriously thick, rich texture and can be used on anyone at any age. I've been using this at night in place of my usual night cream as it spreads across the face like a dream and you can feel a protective coating on the skin but by morning it's had time to sink in leaving no trace of anything behind. It would be too rich for me to use during the day under makeup but it's a fantastic night cream for anyone with sensitive skin.

My first experience with Weleda has been a good one. My favourite product from the bunch has to be the Citrus Deodorant closely followed by the Calendula Face Cream. I'll definitely be ordering more when they run out.
