Most Worn: Eyeshadows.

Up untill last year I very rarely wore eyeshadow except for nights out. It just always always made me feel too done up for daytime and I never really found shades I loved or suited me particularly well but now I have! Yes they're all almost identical in colour but when I find something I like I stick with it. I now consider eyeshadow an important step in my make up routine and its all down to these three beauties...

All three are very similar, neutral and shimmery but without being over the top. The main reason I love these shades is because they help me look more awake. No matter how tired I am they somehow manage to make my eyes look bright. All three are easy to apply and look great worn alone which is great for cack handed girls like myself who arent great at creating fancy eyeshadow looks. Another shadow worth a mention is Urban Decay Virgin. The last few months I'v been using it as an inner corner highlight and prefer it to some others I'd been using as its bright but without looking stark, it just helps to make me look more awake when really I'm feeling like a zombie.

So after seeing swatch after swatch of Viva Glam Nicki I really thought it was just what I was after for the summer months. I placed an online order a few days ago and couldnt wait to to get my hands on it!

I've been stalking the postman ever since I placed my order so when my parcel showed up this morning I ripped into it like a rabid dog.

I had such high hopes for Nicki, the colour in the above pic looks exactly the same as every other swatch I'd clapped eyes on. To me, its the perfect summer colour and I cant even tell you how excited I was after I'd ordered it. However, looking at it IRL my heart actually cried a little, and not in a good way. The true colour isnt whats coming across in pics, and I'm sad to say it reminds me of those pink lipsticks for kids. I've tried it on and really dont know how I'm gona make it work for me, at the mo it seems like it wont ever see the light of day. It's a shame, I know a lot of people really like Viva Glam Nicki but its not what I wanted it to be.

I also ordered the famous All That Glitters, and Ricepaper fell into my basket too. :) I'm already in love with ATG but I'm not so sure about Ricepaper yet, the colour doesnt pick up easily on the brush so trying to build up the colour is a bit of a pain.

As most of you know, I'm a real bore when it comes to eyeshadow. I love shades like Sin from Urban Decay, if you know of any similar shades then let me know in the comments and any suggestions on how to make Viva Glam Nicki more wearable.

Update: I found a way to make Viva Glam Nicki work for me and now love it.
